Position Overview
The Onsite Janitor plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our children, families, and staff. As part of a high-end early learning community, this individual ensures that every classroom, restroom, and common area is spotless, organized, and ready to support an exceptional learning experience each day.The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail, and understands that cleanliness and presentation directly reflect the quality and care of our school.Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Cleaning & Maintenance
- Perform thorough daily cleaning of classrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize all floors and surfaces.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and glass doors to maintain a polished appearance.
- Disinfect high-touch areas multiple times daily (doorknobs, light switches, handles, etc.).
- Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the building and maintain waste areas.
- Restock supplies such as paper products, soap, and sanitizers.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in storage and utility areas.
- Dependability, Reliability every nightly required,
- Nightly, weekly, monthly checklist completion required
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, steam cleaning, floor machine operating all required
Health & Safety ComplianceQualifications
- Follow all sanitation, safety, and infection-control procedures per childcare licensing and health department regulations.
- Properly handle and store cleaning agents and chemicals.
- Participate in safety drills and support emergency procedures as needed.
Schedule & Work Environment
- 1–2 years of janitorial or custodial experience, preferably in a school, childcare, or hospitality setting.
- Strong attention to detail and high standards for cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Understanding of cleaning products, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Friendly, professional demeanor suitable for an environment serving young children and families.
Compensation & Benefits
- Full-time, on-site position with nightly cleaning required after school hours M-F after 6pm.
- May require occasional weekend work for special events or deep cleaning.
